The kids are given a 20 minute recess at lunch each day. The field and playground are across the street from our school. It's quite a large field with a basketball court and playground right next to it. We have to cross a semi busy street. The school has security guards that come out and put a chain across the street so that the students can cross in the crosswalk. The pedestrians here don't have the right of way, even in a crosswalk so it's cross at your own risk. We have the guards try to stop the traffic for us and it's amazing how many cars try to go around and through the chains. There are about 100 students crossing the street and the cars still don't think they need to stop and try to weave through it all.
Jonny and his friends love to play American football during recess. Many locals stop and watch the kids play everyday.
Of course the other popular game is soccer.
