Count Down is On

Well, we are still unable to post pictures on our blog. It is still being blocked but I wanted to update everyone on what we've been up to.

The count down is on for the end of the year. Only 11 more school days and 16 more days until we get on a plane back to Utah. We are so excited to go back but there is so much for us to do here until then. The past two nights we have attended awards ceremonies. One for the Cultural Arts awards which Rachel received two awards. One for being on the Environmental club and the the other for best leading lady in "Peter Pan". Last night was the Middle School Sports awards where they honored all the teams and tonight is the Sports awards for the Secondary.

Prom is Saturday night for Rachel. We were able to get a dress made for her. It turned out really nice and now she has a dress designed and fitted for her. It is just a simple black and white satin dress that looks very classy on her. She is going with a group of people. It's not quite how I remember Prom being. They all dress up and go to a hotel for dinner and the dance. Makes it simple. We will post pictures later when we get back to Utah.

We most likely will be moving to a different house next year. We had a decent house this year but it was just too far from all our kids friends so we were able to get a nicer, bigger place that is in the same complex as most of their friends. We will have a great view of Hong Kong and the bay from our place. Right out our front door is a large grassy area and playground for the kids. We are waiting for the final approval from the management company but it should work out. In that case we have lots of packing to do. The school will move us over the summer but we have to have everything packed up before we leave. We came with only 12 suitcases but have accumulated LOTS of stuff so far.

Our flight leaves here on June 14 at 11:45 a.m. and we will arrive 18 hours later in Utah on June 14 at 3:30 p.m. With the time difference we will be gaining a day going back. We are so excited to see family and friends and to eat good mexican food. Our summer is already pretty packed with sports camps, girls camp, scout camp, visiting family, but we will have plenty of time to enjoy Utah.

Check back in a few weeks for all our pictures.

Blog Blocked

Well, you can all thank China for this one. They have blocked access to blogs here. I am able to get to our blog through a proxy site and it allows me to type but not upload any pictures soooooo..... that means all our pictures from our trip to Guillin and Yangshuo have to sit on our computer until we get back to the States in three weeks. We have tons of pictures to share but unless I can figure out a way around this blockage they will have to wait. Sorry and stay tuned.

Middle School Regional Champions

The QSI Middle School Basketball team came back from the regional tournament as the Champions. They really worked hard and deserved it. Gavin was the assistant coach with Rick Redden as the coach. Jonny made the final team along with Rick's triplets; Brad, Derek, and Jacob. The tournament was for three days in Guangzhou just before our vacation. They came back beat but very excited to have one first place.
