QSI Dragons

A few weeks ago our school, QSI, hosted the ACAMIS Basketball tournament here in Shekou. This was the final big tournament for us that includes all of China. It would be like the State Championships back in the US but for all of China. We had teams from Shanghai, Beijing, and Guongzhou here. Gavin coached the girls team this year so that he could coach Rachel (#30). He said it was a lot easier coaching girls than boys in some ways because it wasn't as intense but harder because they were girls.
Our girls team did an awesome job. They made it into the championship game but came out taking second place. They played a very good game though and each of them put 100% into the game. Gavin said it was probably the only game he has ever coached where he was ok with losing because they played so well. They lost by only a few points and put on a very good show for us. WAY TO DRAGONS!!!!!!!
Gavin takes basketball very serious and loves coaching. Now that the secondary basketball season is over he will be now helping with the boys middle school team which Jonny is playing on. Jonny just finished volleyball season where the boys took second place in their big tournament in Guangzhou last week. He is their starting serving and made 20 points for our team during one match. His love is still basketball though and is excited to start the season.
