Leaving on a Jet Plane

We finally made it to the Hong Kong Airport on our way to Vietnam after a crazy day of lost assignments that were due for my Masters class before we left, an hour long final exam online, teaching school, getting a call from Vika's school that they were sending her home with a fever, and on top of that trying to make sure we were all packed and ready to go. We drugged Vika with Motrin so we could make it across the border without betting quarantined and finally made it to the airport at 6:00. I was so ready for a vacation.
Hong Kong or Compton? The airport had a Popeyes that made us feel like we were right back in Louisiana or East LA. Regardless of it being greasy, it sure tasted good. When you are deprived of good food anything "Western" tastes good.

We made it Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam at 10:00 but had to wait an hour while they processed our Visa. We are traveling with other teachers and their families from QSI so we have a group of 20 people. We stepped out of the airport looking for our guide and were greeting by a mob of people. Not exactly there for us but it was like walking down the red carpet in Hollywood. People staring at all us Americans.

After a good night sleep we were ready to hit the town. This is the view from our room in Ho Chi Minh. Interesting how you can tell the families with money by just looking at the houses. The more money, the taller and nicer the house.
