Buji Art Village

Last Saturday Gavin and I went out to Buji which is an art village here in Shenzhen. It is an area of the city with streets and streets of artists, art galleries, art supply stores, and everything you could imagine that has to do with art. I have been out here several times and it is always interesting to just walk around. The art is really cheap and you can pick up some really good copies of pictures.
One thing we want to do is bring down a picture of our family and have it painted. If you look in the picture above you can see a painting of an old woman with the photo in the lower right hand corner. It is amazing what they can do and it doesn't cost very much at all.
You can find all kinds of art here from Chinese watercolor to acrylic oils.
There are artists all over painting sometimes they are standing out on the street like this guy. No need for an easel, he just posts his canvas to the wall and paints.
