This year Gavin and I coached the girls middle school basketball team. Gavin brought his expertise to the court and took our A team girls to the championships. The girls worked hard all season perfecting their defensive skills and along with their amazing unstoppable shooters, were undefeated the whole season. Most teams weren't able to score with our defense. The girls only gave up an average of 5 points per game during the SAIKAC tournament.
Basketball has become a major part of our lives with all our kids playing. Gavin is a great coach and is well respected by all at our school. Every team he has coached here in Saudi has won the championships. I'm lucky to be able to coach with him on and off the court.

Hello!
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for writing this blog. You have given me a world of relief. My husband has been given a job to work for Aramco and we will be moving to an expat compound Dhahran sometime late June or July (this year). I've been having some stressful evenings lately worried about ISIS and the high rate of car accidents over there and worried about what would happen when my husband takes the bus and leaves the compound. Just worry worry worry but your blog has really lifted my sprits on the whole ordeal. Thank you so much!! and please, keep blogging!! Question: Do sell clothing in the compound??
Thank you!
Shiiea007...thank you for your comment. You shouldn't have to worry much at all if you are on an Aramco compound. The security is very tight at Aramco. We live in a non-aramco compound and travel through town daily to work, shopping, etc and feel very safe, except the crazy driving. Aramco has their own busses to and from compounds and shopping so you will be just fine. I do have some pictures posted of Dhahran Aramco will you will be. It is very nice. They have their own market for food, restaurants, parks, movie theatre, sporting fields. You don't really have to leave the camp if you didn't want to. I would suggest bringing as much or your clothing needs as possible. They have huge malls here in Dhahran, BUT you can't try on any clothes in the stores. You have to purchase them, go to the bathroom to try it on in the mall, and then most places only let you exchange items. Bahrain is better in that they have dressing rooms in the stores. I find clothing to be rather expensive here, but they do have GAP, Old Navy, Express, and other stores here. I just prefer to not shop here if I can avoid it. Hope your move goes smoothly.
