Christmas in Europe - Vienna Day 10

Vienna on New Year's Eve.
It is New Year's Eve Day....
We woke up early to catch the 9:00 am train to Bratislava where we were going to meet and stay with our good friends the Galicia's.  We worked with them at QSI in China and they transferred to QSI in Bratislava, Slovakia the same time we came to Saudi.  We spent many vacations and time together while we were in China but haven't seen them for almost three years.  We were so excited to finally get together with Tia Debbie, Tio Frank, Noah, Gabi, and Chelsea.

Our train ride was only about 2 1/2 hours.  We were greeted by Frank at the train station and then went to their apartment for lunch before we headed off to Vienna to celebrate the coming of the New Year.  They had arranged a rental car for us so that we can travel around Slovakia, Vienna, and Slovenia for the next few days.

Our car was delivered to their house around 4:00 and then we met the Woodhead's, another family we knew in China, and headed for Vienna for the evening.  Vienna is only about a 45 minute drive from Bratislava.

We parked outside of the city and took the metro into Vienna for a night of partying.
Debbie and Vika...can you tell we are excited to be here?

Vienna was AWESOME!  It was packed with people and was all decorated for the holidays.  There were several live bands playing at different parts of the city.  It was one huge party everywhere.
Frank and Gavin waiting in line for what else but something made of pork.

Nicole and what else...Sausage!
We had to eat sausage while in Vienna.  It was sold in little stands all throughout the city.  They served it with lots of mustard and some awesome bread.  YUMMY!
Couldn't get enough of it!

YUMMY!
Amazing city, even at night.

Vienna's version of a hostess "Ding Dong" but oh so much better.

Ruins in the city...wish we knew exactly what this was.

Debbie photo bombing our picture.

They had a live band playing all Abba music in front of this amazing place.  SO FUN!  We just enjoyed the music while we drank hot punch and cidar.

We just couldn't stop smiling, enjoying our time with good friends in an awesome place.
