Basketball 2013

The last few months of the school year in 2013 were filled with lots of basketball for our family.  Jonny played on the JV team and led them to the championships.  He literally led them to the win.  It was an exciting game that went into three overtimes.  After the second overtime they decided to play "sudden death", which meant that whichever team scored two points would win.  The other team was fouled and went to the free throw line.  The guy missed his first shot so there still was a chance.  Gavin called a timeout and told the boys that he was going to purposely miss the second free throw hoping they could get the ball back to score.  When the player went up for the shot, he had a lane violation by stepping on the free throw line.  This gave our team, DHS, possession. They took it to the side and threw it in to Jonny who did an awesome typical Jonny style "shake and bake" to the hole and scored.  The gym went crazy with Jonny being the superstar.  The students were all cheering "Jonny Jonny" and lifted him up on their shoulders.  Quite the boys dream.

Nicole then played for the girls MS team where they were undefeated for the season until the tournament where they took second.  The tournament was in Jeddah so we didn't get to see her play, but she is an awesome player.
