Christmas in Europe - Day 3 - Romania

We woke up early and headed to Perdeal for a day of skiing.  There was just enough snow for us to enjoy our day.  Sun was shining, temperatures not too cold, and snow….OK.  Not Utah snow for sure. It was a small resort with just a few lifts and some parts up top were rocky, but six years without snow, it was just fine.
Vika waiting for someone to ski with her.

They had an area for sledding which Vika enjoyed.

What's being in the snow without building a snowman.

It was a very quaint small village.  Quite the picturesque place.

Jonny and Franco

Jonny and Franco snowboarded for the morning but after seeing Gavin whizz by on his skis over and over, they finally gave in and switched to ski's.  Gavin has told Jonny for years how much better skiing is but Jonny just couldn't give up the coolness of snowboarding.  He finally admitted after spending the second half of the day skiing, that it was fun, in a different day.  We first taught all our kids to ski first when they were younger and then gave them the choice of snowboarding or skiing, but Jonny has not converted back to ski's and spent the rest of the time skiing.

Gavin at the top.  Not a soul around, probably because there really wasn't much snow, but he didn't care.

Awesome day skiing.

Best part of the trip?  Hanging out with our friends the Gerber's.
It was another full day of fun.  We were cold and tired by the end of the day, but it was soooo worth it.  We ended our day at a local restaurant where warmed up with soup and lots of meat again.  Love Romania!
