Christmas in Europe - Bratislava, Slovakia Day 11

Penny

The next day we decided to explore Bratislava, Slovakia.  Our day started with play time with Penny, the Galicia's cute puppy.  They had gotten her for Christmas so she was only a few months old and sooooo cute.

We headed off to Devin's Castle to start our day.
Devin's Castle
Repunzel's Tower?????
Gavin came to Bratislava years ago for a QSI training while we were in China and came back with the story that he saw Repunzels tower, so of course he was excited to finally show Vika the real Repunzel's tower.

The gang...Vika, Nicole, Chelsea, Gabi, and Gavin
It was soooo cold but we were here and wanted to see as much as we could see.

The castle dates back to 5th century B.C. almost 400 years before the Celts came to this area.  It is in the hills above the Danube River.

These entrances in the side of the mountain look impossible to get to.  Not sure what they were actually for.

Vika...a little cold?
It was very cold which seemed to effect some of our attitudes.

That's Kofola, not Beer.  Enjoying it with Debbie and Frank.
After the castle we drove through the country side to an organic farm that had this very quant restaurant in their farm house.  The food was AMAZING.  We had some traditional food along some Slovakian Kofola.  It is a drink like root beer but with a black liqourice flavor.
Big Bunny!!!!

Family picture...the donkey must be Daddy
We wandered around this little organic farm in Slovakia where they had all types of animals.  We were the only ones there, probably because it was so cold.

Very sleepy boy!

Hot Chocolate...Slovakian Style!
After a day of exploring Slovakia, the adults, Gavin, Coree, Debbie, and Frank, went into Bratislava to have some "adult" time.  Actually, the only real reason we went was to go have the most yummy hot chocolate EVER!  It really was just melted chocolate in a cup.  You could get different flavors added and alcohol.  Coree asked for one without rum, but they brought it with rum.  Of course we could smell the rum right away and asked for a different one.  The waitress thought we were crazy for not wanting it with rum.  It took a while to explain that we ordered it without rum, she just looked at us weird and finally got  a new one, alcohol free.
